Alexander Steele is excited to announce that we have partnered with a successful and market-leading FMCG brand to find a Cluster Manager to join their team, operating within the East Anglia region.
Up to £35k DOE
Summary of Role:
You'll be accountable for a group of 3, up to a maximum of 7 stores, and a headcount of between 6 and 21 staff, whereby they are expected to lead by example, coach and lead a team of store managers to deliver excellent customer service, display a high level of product knowledge, and support the day-to-day operations of each store.
Additional responsibilities include:
Staff Development
• To demonstrate through active coaching, a high level of product knowledge and customer service whilst advising customers on their purchase.
• To support the store managers and ECSs within your cluster whilst both delivering and overseeing their training and development on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure full understanding of company policies and store operational procedures.
• Identify key areas to drive sales performance, plan and implement action to achieve sales growth.
• To visit each store for a full day on a weekly basis and play an active managerial and transactional role as part of the stores agreed daily budget.
• Oversee performance management, staff attendance, timekeeping, and dress standards.
• Educate and drive store teams on company KPI’S, the staff incentive scheme and any other initiatives being prioritised by the group.
Retail Operations
• Ensure store standards and cleanliness are always impeccable.
• Weekly floor walks with store teams to ensure adherence to company promotional and commercial guidelines.
• Ensure all scheduled company tasks, and reports are completed on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as needed.
• Be fully versed and up to date with the weekly bulletin, commercial direction of the group and educate store teams on following this protocol.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for colleagues and customers whilst on shift. Expected to adhere to industry specific legislation and all in store health and safety procedures.
• Ensure accurate approval of staff time sheets on Deputy and timely submission to payroll on a weekly basis.
• Support Regional Manager in the execution of store development plans and man management objectives.
• Carry out regular checks of loyalty compliance, staff discount usage and store refunds.
• Send feedback requests, product recommendations and competitor update to Head Office as and when required.
• To ensure all stores are always kept trading, and from time-to-time cover stores directly in the event of emergency or staff absence.
Budgeting/Cost Control
• Create working schedules to ensure labour spending is under budget and used effectively.
• Control cost of stationery/consumable items in store.
• Manage personal travel effectively and adherence to the company travel and expenses policy.
Cash Controls
• Ensure cash handling process is carried out correctly and reduce loss.
Stock Controls
• Manage the stock file in stores, ensuring all stock counting, receipt and transfer processes are carried out correctly.
• Minimize stock loss through effective stock rotation and staff education on device trouble shooting to prevent unnecessary store returns.
• Carry out weekly counts and spot checks in line with audit and operational schedule.
Key-Holder/Security
• Responsible for secure opening and closing of premises as and when necessary.
Ad-Hoc
• Where necessary, and by business need, support stores in other areas from time to time.
• Support the operations team in the set up and opening of new stores.
• Liaise with Head Office Functions to ensure in-store standards are optimized including Marketing, Property, Group Audit and Operations, IT and the Warehouse.
Experience/Skills Required:
• Full understanding of running a store or group of stores.
• At least 2 years store management experience.
• Must hold a driving license.
• Excellent, clear communication, time management and organisational skills.
• Be adaptable and flexible.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Multi-site experience preferable.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coach a team.
• Ability to manage time effectively.
