Business Development Manager - Prestige Independent Retail Field Based - Scotland & The North of England Up to £40k + £4.2k car allow + 10% bonus + benefits Alexander Steele are working with a market leading branded spirits business. The business operate globally and they have a fantastic portfolio of branded spirits. The role is mostly field based covering Scotland & the North of England. Winning new business and growing existing accounts within prestige Independent Retailers. Job Role and Responsibilities Gain distribution of the portfolio into the Prestige channel and activate where appropriate to showcase our brands. Mainly in the Off Trade, this class of trade includes Specialist retailers and caviste-style operators. Build and develop relationships with key customers and groups in this channel Geographically located in Scotland on the whisky trail, and also in the North of England, these outlets provide the “hand sell” to engaged consumers/shoppers who look for advice, brand stories and quality products. Typical customers range from Royal Mile Whiskies, Good Spirits Co, Select Drams and Woodwinters in Scotland. Covering all independent retailers, online and some key RTM. This role may overlap into ecommerce where some customers also operate on line Drive the NPD items we are bringing to the market whilst protecting existing distribution and sales of the core range Differentiate our brands by creating and executing innovative in-store activation, striving to secure maximum visibility of our brands Work closely with the Trade Marketing team to identify and implement relevant activation plans Create and manage your own journey plan to ensure most the most efficient reach and coverage of these customers Work with limited-release products, managing allocations to the customer base Use Salesforce.com to plan, record and report with KPI updates/dashboards of progress versus targets using Salesforce.com CRM system Proactively seek out new business opportunities to grow your customer base Understand and deliver insight to the business on weekly and monthly customer performance, drive action from this and deliver incremental growth Work closely with Brand Ambassador resource to run masterclass events across portfolio brands – drive awareness, visibility, trial and rotation Cross functional working within the UK business with Trade Marketing and international departments Work closely with Digital brand marketing to maximise online opportunities across customer base Develop excellent product knowledge and critically be aware of all market trends across beers, wines and spirits
