Alexander Steele has partnered exclusively with a leading food manufacturer in Co. Westmeath. This business produces quality products that are supplied globally. Due to growth the business is looking to appoint a Quality Assurance Lead to their team

On offer:

  • Salary is €44,000 - €47,000 doe

The role:

As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a critical role in overseeing and driving the quality agenda at our site. Reporting directly to the Group Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading the on-site quality function, ensuring all products and processes meet internal standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage all QA and QC actives.
  • Lead the HACCP team.
  • Champion and foster a strong, group-wide food safety culture, driving its consistent implementation and reinforcement across the site.
  • Make informed decisions on product release, NC handling and risk mitigation.
  • Take ownership of the implementation, management, and continuous compliance of all quality systems (e.g., BRC, HACCP, FSAI regulations, and customer-specific standards), ensuring they are fully embedded and effectively maintained.
  • Prepare for and lead site audits including customer, BRC and regulatory inspections.
  • Lead and oversee QC checks of raw materials, in process and finished goods to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
  • Deliver induction training for all new employees focusing on food safety, hygiene, company procedures and support the ongoing team development
  • You will be the primary contact on site for any quality matters for the site.

Candidate requirements:

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar quality leadership role within food manufacturing
  • Level 8 of higher in a Food Science field or equivalent
  • Strong working knowledge of BRC including leading on site audits.
  • Have a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent level of IT literacy including good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
