We are supporting a food manufacturing business based in Newcastle as they have an opening for a Production Shift Manger. The Production Shift Manager will be responsible for setting and driving operational standards in relation to People, Product, Process, Plant and Performance across all of the shift. On Offer: • £42,480 • Working 4 on 4off (2 days / 2 nights) • 28 days annual leave Duties: • Manage a trained and motivated shift team with committed, multi-skilled and flexible colleagues. • Operate flexibly and respond quickly to change and opportunities – actively demonstrate the capacity to get into action fast and make things happen. • Ensure that all roles are suitably resourced and effectively utilised in order to meet capacity/customer requirements. • Ensure that all appropriate people mapping and planning is in place at all times. Your shift should never be over or under resourced with either permanent or agency colleagues. • Take ownership and accountability for every aspect of your products on shift, making sure they comply to all company and customer specification • Follow the daily plan and make sure it is delivered in the correct order, on time and in full • Collect and understand KPIs, share key highlights and trends with direct reports. • Ensure that planned outputs and performance efficiencies are consistently achieved in line with KPI requirements and standards. • Take accountability for all shift production ensuring that plant throughput rates are met to achieve the required production targets to meet customer service levels whilst maintaining the integrity of the product. • Set high GMP standards through visible leadership including daily walk rounds with direct reports, line manager and SLT, highlighting any issues and implementing solutions and remedial actions. Experience Needed • Production experience at shift management level gained in a food manufacturing environment • Customer focus: understands the needs of different customers. • Standards and systems: understands technical and operating standards. • Leadership and communication: is able to provide clear direction to lower level reports. • Team working: demonstrates an ability to work as an active member of a team. • Information management: demonstrates that information is used and managed correctly. • Health and Safety: demonstrates understanding and awareness of health and safety. • Demonstrates knowledge of GMP and HACCP • Demonstrates ethical awareness • Demonstrates an understanding of Food Safety Culture • IOSH • ILM Level 2 If you want to find out more about the role, please apply with your most recent CV or contact Iain Shanley directly.
