Product Development Lead

Product Development Lead This role will be based 5-days per week in the companies Edinburgh office. Please only apply if this is doable. Alexander Steele are delighted to be working with a market leading UK-based FMCG business to find them a Product Development Lead to join their growing team. • You will be responsible for analysing and providing meaningful data and insights around new and existing product performance trends. • Monitor general industry trends, identifying potential opportunities and/or highlighting potential missed opportunities and proposing product listing and lifecycle. • Ensure the company can make informed decisions to stay ahead of the curve ensuring the company has full awareness of the data trends to enable continued sales growth. • The role will also encompass range management control to assist the company, via data and trends, to carefully manage its product portfolio. This will be achieved by obtaining sales, product, and performance data from a variety of sources. • At every opportunity you will use your initiative, insight, and feedback received from the business to help shape the product portfolio control. • Produce and maintain competitor analysis report for online industry competition and present this to management as and when required. • Produce and maintain external product presentation reports for future reference to decisions. KPI’s • Ensure all product related data is up to date and presented on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual recurring basis via relevant dashboards. • Upkeep of all online competitor analysis in relevant form factor. • Quarterly analysis of product lifecycle to ensure company has the correct product portfolio from external suppliers. Ideal experience: • Experience of analysing industry trends • Able to liaise with internal stakeholders and manage & deliver on a roadmap to achieving the aims of the business. • A positive mindset, an approachable personality, and be adaptable. • Driven, motivated, and have initiative. • A creative problem-solving attitude and attention to detail • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to the business. • Time management skills, and work with a range of complex tasks towards deadlines. • Able to interpret and understand data requirements from different areas of the business. • The ability to analyse and present market trends.
