Alexander Steele Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading food manufacturer based in East Riding of Yorkshire supplying to major retailers. Due to a period of exciting growth, they are looking to appoint a Part Time Health & Safety Officer to work closely with wider function to improve company culture. On offer: • £16 per hour – 25 hours per week • Flexible hours • Company pension • Working Mon - Fri The role: Reporting to the Operations Director, the Health & Safety Officer will support the company to comply with health & safety legislation and work to establish a health & safety culture within the business. The successful candidate is tasked with the responsibility of identifying potential hazards, creating policies that ensure a safe workplace, and looking out for areas of improvement. They will also be the go to for staff and line managers to advise on health & safety matters. The key responsibilities of the role include: • Act as a first point of contact for colleagues seeking advice • Support the company during safety audits • Create health and safety plans according to legal requirements •Inspect internal equipment regularly to ensure compliance • Investigate accidents to discover cause and work on prevention Candidate requirements: The business is looking for an individual who ideally has experience within the food industry. They are also willing to consider candidates from a manufacturing background. You must be a strong communicator, able to work in a fast paced environment, and able to manage a varied workload. • Experience working in a health & safety role at a similar level • NEBOSH Qualification • Confident and assertive communication skills • Confident engaging with operational teams
