A food manufacturing business in the Glasgow area has a need for a Facilities Electrician. The Role In this role you will assume responsibility for electrical integrity of the industrial and domestic aspects of the site and the inspection and testing of all electrical equipment. On Offer: • £37,440 • Monday – Friday • 8am – 4pm • 28 days annual leave Key Duties/Responsibilities • Maintain the electrical wiring of the site. • Improve and upgrade the electrical wiring of the site as and when required. • Take the lead in equipment installations. • Maintain the site schematic and circuit charts. • Assist in maintaining the engineering stores by identifying parts and raising parts requisition forms for repairs and stock replenishment. • Ensure stores booking in and out procedures are being adhered to. • Responsible for ensuring current practices meet Health and Safety and Food Safety standards, and where possible that they exceed requirements. • Assist shift maintenance engineers as and when required. • Providing training, support and guidance to electrical engineer apprentices. Desirable Experience • Formal engineering qualification to at least City and Guilds level, ONC/HNC level or equivalent. • City & Guilds 2391 certificate is desirable but not essential. • Recognised apprenticeship. The Candidate • A team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility/ownership and a positive “can do” attitude. • Have the ability to work effectively within a factory environment and perform under pressure. • Complete all engineering work to high engineering, quality, safety and hygiene standards. • Be flexible with working hours. • Proficient in English (literacy and numeracy).
