Reporting to: Engineering Shift Managers

Salary - £30,000

Shifts –M to F, 8hrs per day

Overtime – any overtime is additional to salary

Holidays – 28 days per year

Principle Objectives:

To ensure accurate management of spare parts inventory, facilitate timely processing of maintenance part requests, and coordinate with suppliers to maintain smooth operations in support of food production standards and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage spare parts stockholding and reordering using the integrated stock management system, ensuring availability of critical spares to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records to support operational efficiency within the engineering maintenance team.
  • Update and manage equipment records, technical manuals, and related documentation to comply with food industry standards.
  • Administer and maintain the CMS (Computerized Maintenance System) to ensure traceability of maintenance activities and part usage.
  • Monitor and report on engineering department budgets, including weekly financial performance and cost tracking related to maintenance operations.
  • Ensure accurate records for departmental risk assessments, contractor controls, and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

Training:

  • Attend training courses as required

Health & Safety:

  • All duties will be implemented within the Company Health & Safety and Policy and Procedure Specification.
  • Ensure safety-related requests are prioritised and planned accordingly.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance and reactive maintenance activities are supported with correct level of safety risk assessments and method statements
  • Report all activities failing to meet safety requirements and ensure actions are generated to develop risk assessments and method statements
  • To manage and record the activities within the Safety toolkit, to ensure compliance.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills to support inventory control in a high-paced food production environment.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-moving sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for reporting and communication purposes.
  • Familiarity with food industry regulations, such as HACCP and GMP, is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
